Leutasch Ghost Gorge
On the trail of the gorge spirits
Let yourself be enchanted and fascinated on your excursion to the Leutascher Geisterklamm. Everyone has heard of ghosts, goblins and dwarfs. They are said to be at home in untouched nature. But only a few people have been able to see such beings for themselves.
Far back in the Leutascher Geisterklamm, when we enter the forest through the Klamm Gate, we sense a strange and mysterious reality. It is the realm of the gorge spirit, who is up to mischief deep down in his roaring castle of bubbling whirlpools and eddies, of rushing cascades and bizarre rock faces. A bold climb gives us a breathtaking view into the dwelling of the gorge spirit. At the very exit of the gorge, which can be up to 75 m deep, live the gorge goblins and water gnomes. They are all creatures of nature that we only see and hear when we leave everyday life behind and dive into the mysterious world of the ghost gorge.
Explore three ways
Three paths lead through the realm of the gorge spirit. The 3000 m long Klammgeistweg runs, among other things, on a bold, 800 m long footbridge. At the stops, the gorge spirit tells us all kinds of mysterious things from his realm. The 1900 m long goblin trail leads from the Mittenwald gorge kiosk over the glacier slope into the Leutasch gorge. At the stations, the goblins tell us about the rocks in the Leutascher Geisterklamm and the power of the glaciers during the ice ages. At the gorge exit near Mittenwald, the 200 m long waterfall trail leads deep into the Leutascher Geisterklamm gorge and ends at the 23 m high waterfall (entrance fee).
